A few of us are doing a challenge this month with the goal of losing 10lbs. For anyone that’s interested please feel free to post updates in this thread as we go. Everyone is welcome to join! Your goal doesn’t have to be to lose weight. It’ll be a fun way to encourage each other and hold ourselves accountable.
Some of us will be sharing our weigh ins, but there is no requirement to do so.
This challenge is already working for me because I had no desire to work out this evening but I did. Tonight I boxed on the VR.
This morning I weighed in at 196lbs.
Good luck, everyone!

Mike, sometimes you just have to get started. This morning, I walked my dog briskly for about 3/4 mile. Then this afternoon I hopped on the recumbent bike for 20 minutes, with 3 alternating HIIT sessions, and followed up with free weights. Probably had a little more than an hour, all told. I found a really nice video on youtube of mountain scenes, nice music… just used that to help me concentrate.
I don’t want to put my weight on TikTok, but I weighed in at 203.0. A month ago I was 193!!! I’m having disc replacement surgery in mod-October, and would like to get as fit as possible in the next 2 months. I have a full gym downstairs, and on days when balance is iffy, I can use the recumbent bike, otherwise it’s the ellyptical. I also have a pretty cool walker for outside.

Good morning,
I don’t want to put my weight on here, but I do have a goal of losing 90ibs. This is the amount I put on since depression set in when I was no longer able to jog 3 miles a day. I have been faithful using my VR headset since I got it. I typically use it during the mornings. But occasionally on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I think I overdid it yesterday morning because I had to drag out my prescription pain pills because my knees were hurting after exercising on VR. The squats in the boxing app is killing me. Crossing fingers I don’t have issues today. I keep hoping that losing the weight will help with my pain. I wish us luck. If I lose any I will post amount lost.

Thanks! Advice, don’t try doing the high intensity boxing. I think it was trying to kill me. Lol! Longest 15 minutes of my life. Those balls were coming from all directions and so quick there was no way that I could do any blocking. Whew. But the points nearly doubled.

That’s great that you’re joining in Wendy!
Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well, and I had terrible dystonia for a good portion of the day so I only did some Power for Parkinsons exercises, which is very similar to yoga. My situation yesterday stemmed from the fact that I didn’t get much sleep the night before (about 3hrs).
Last night I was determined to get some sleep so I took a couple trazodone and I was able to get 6 1/2 hours.
Today was a much better day. I worked out on the treadmill. I alternated between running and walking for 25 minutes and then walked for another 10. I haven’t been running in a while so I’m going to have to work up to gaining some stamina.
I hope everyone else is doing well!

As much as I didn’t feel like working out today, I forced myself to do 35min on Supernatural VR. I was happy I did because I felt much better after.
@dhoward71 I saw you on the leaderboard. You’re crushing it! You’re certainly destroying me lol.
This week I need to start watching what I eat.
How is everyone else doing?

Thank you, While I have been doing well on the exercise, I have not been doing so well watching what I am eating. Hopefully this week will be better.
I am glad that you are using the VR to exercise it definitely helps make it more fun.

I decided to join this challenge but made it difficult for myself as 1 August was our 25th wedding anniversary and we’ve had a week of meeting up with friends and family. Lots of drinks and things that I shouldn’t have eaten! Weigh-in on 1 August was 198lbs.
I’ve averaged 7700 steps a day so far. Mostly by walking to dog who is as slow as me. On Friday I managed 30 minutes on the exercise bike; and I did an hour long neuro-physio exercise class this morning.
The plan now: No more booze for the rest of the month and try to do some exercise every day. Next weigh in tomorrow
