August Fitness Challenge - Week 2

Down two! Continuing to get out on the trail or in the gym. Made some not great food choices this past week, but oh well - recognize them and move on!

Way to go Cynthia! I got on the treadmill tonight, walked for 20 minutes then ran for 15min. About 6 PM today I was frozen with dystonia, so I’m grateful that I even got a workout in.

I’m going to skip the weigh in this week and wait till Monday morning instead.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

I am going up and down on weight. I am dealing with extreme knee pain. X-ray shows nothing significant so one must assume it is Parkinson’s related. I see Neurologist on the 30th hopefully I get some answers because other than my VR exercises I can’t do much else and my diet alone isn’t getting the weight off. Pain sucks.

I’ve been trying to get more steps in. Got some walking poles at the advice of a PT to encourage more symmetrical movement and upper body engagement. Harder than just walking, but it feels productive in terms of posture and getting my right arm to move.

Got 3 miles in just walking around my neighborhood after getting my 2nd grader on the bus.

I’ve also been tap dancing to YouTube videos lately, which is fun. Used to tap dance a lot as a kid in the 80s, so it’s all coming back. I think the main advantage in my fitness journey is that I’m not afraid to look like an idiot. :rofl:

It’s so great that everybody’s getting their workouts in! Tonight I did a half hour on the VR doing a flow work out and then boxing. Man, that is such a good workout I was really breaking a sweat today!

I saw the leaderboard at the end and Dawn was crushing it! I took a screenshot. The quality is not that great, but you can see she’s in first place and we are both beating Jennifer Lopez. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yesterday I did a 25 minute workout on VR and today I didn’t work out, but I did some yardwork and mowed the lawn, so I’ll count that as exercise.

I haven’t been dieting at all and I’m sure that’s gonna be a problem. I’m going to weigh in on Monday so we’ll see where I’m at.
