Dose of medication not working

What do you all do when for whatever reason a dose of your Carbidopa levodopa doesn’t seem to be working?

Its never happened to me, may be your not wanting long enough after or before a meal. I play it safe and wait 1hr 45min . I hope this helps.

Sometimes I’ll take an additional half a pill or full pill if my meds aren’t working. Either that or I will use my Inbrija inhaler.

It usually works after I take my meds and I have to eat something. I’m sure it doesn’t work as well but if I don’t o throw up Now if I had that happen I would take another pill and call my dr. You may need t change meds. I had to after the first year. The new I have been doing great on. But they say eventually, the pill won’t work.

Since Parkinson’s is a progressive disease, it stands to reason that the same dose of meds won’t give the same amount of relief over time. Or, your neurologist may just have you on too low of a dose. I;d say try to make a meds adjustment appointment - you could probably get by with seeing the PA. Are you taking Sinement? Have you tried Rytary? That seemed to work better for me, and didn’t give me an upset stomach.

I agree with Parky Hiker about Rytary. I started Rytary one year after diagnosis. I’ve been on 3 pills a day for 4 years. Sometimes I take 1/2 or whole sinemet if needed.
