Does anyone else experience weak legs? My neurologist says it’s the perception of weakness. But I feel that it’s so severe it affects my daily living.
Yes I do. It’s horrible. I feel that my legs will give out. I have increased my meds several times but increasing my dose hasn’t worked.

I know PD can cause muscle weakness. I have dystonia in my feet, legs, and hips. In the autumn 2022 my legs actually did start getting too weak that i couldnt hold myself up. By October of 2022, i couldn’t stand for three minutes. I ended up being admitted to the hospital with severe anemia and my hemoglobin was 5.3. My body was essentially not getting enough oxygen and my muscles were suffocating. I had 3 blood transfusions the first 12 hours I was in the hospital. The doctors could not find a definite reason why my anemia was so severe. They ended up going with iron deficiency anemia due to menstrual cycle. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I was helping a friend find ouf more information on the effects of statins and long terms it can have on the body. Found out it is an immunosuppressive, around the same time she had eczema and anemia. So I found that there is a forn of anemia that is caused by certain medications. So I was looking at the list of medications. I was surprised when I saw that Levodopa is one of the medications on the list. I have been taking Carbidopa Levodopa for 10 years. I have never been told by any of my doctors, or pharmacists that this drug caused that. I would recommend asking for iron levels and hemoglobin labs done. Then you know it is anemia or not and have a baseline for future reference. The hospital doctor was irritated that I didnt have any historical blood work that he could refer to.
I am thinking the Levodopa is contributing to it because i thought once my iron levels and hemoglobin got back to normal that i would start feeling stronger buf it fedz to a point then my muscles hurt abd i feel like standing is the hardest thing ever.

I to get Severe leg pain and weaknesses Especially on off time I can’t even stand up, most of the time when meds are working I still have leg pain but its not to bad I can handle it. As far as meds I refuse to take more unless it’s absolutely necessary.
