Have you participated in any clinical trials or research studies related to Parkinson's disease?

Discuss any involvement you’ve had in clinical trials or research studies, highlighting the experiences, benefits, or knowledge gained through these engagements, and how they have contributed to the advancement of Parkinson’s research.

I’ve signed up for many, but have only been selected for 2. I usually don’t pass the screenings because of my brain hemorrhage. Did I forget to mention that? Probably, I always do. I survived a brain hemorrhage during the year of my diagnosis process.
Anyway.
The first was about how we process auditory and visual information. I listened to people speaking quickly or slowly with uncommon accents and had to answer questions about what they said. Later it was seeing 2 images that were somewhat similar and answering questions about them.
In summary, we process auditory information differently than neurotypical people.
The second was the effect of listening to 20 minutes of music on my mood or thoughts. Since I do that regularly anyway, it was less informative.
In summary, music helps improve your mood.

Nice i’ve always thought music helped improve mood, but it also helps me retain information better. If there’s music on that I can relate to. I can pick up anything you’re laying down take the music away I have no idea what’s going on in life. .

Hi Dave, it’s great to have you here. Welcome!

Wow, I just looked up the NeuroDerm pump and it sounds really interesting. I have never heard of it before.

How was it? Is it basically a device that delivers liquid CL 24/7?

I was in a trial for neurological illness and gait. It is a mayo clinic research. They feel that how you walk can a diagnosis

I enrolled in a trial thru my neurologist called personal kinetograph (PKG) I wore a smart watch for 7 days 24 hours it measured tremors and bradykiin movement. It was very simple I didn’t have to go anywhere and they paid me. $75 each time I wore the watch. I did 4 times so I was a happy camper. Haven’t found any others that I’ve been able to get involved in close to home.
