Hello, my name is Jeff. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 13 years ago when I was 39. I had DBS surgery around 6 years ago, and it has helped me a great deal, and if I had to do it over again, I would. I’m still working but have stopped driving. I’m lucky to have a great employer that allows me to work from home 100% of the time. I have a lot of questions regarding nutrition and symptoms in general.

Hi Jeff, welcome to Parky Chat! It’s good to hear that DBS surgery has worked well for you. I’m on track to get DBS surgery next spring. What are your symptoms?
They started with just a twitch in my right pinky and slowly progressed. Lately I have really bad insomnia, bradykinesia, and dyskinesia. My symptoms seem like they are random day to day. One day, it’s primarily my left side, then the next day, it will be my right side. Also, they seem to increase with anxiety - are others experiencing this?
Symptoms wise you sound similar to me although the randomly switching from side to side is something I haven’t heard before.
I was diagnosed at 39. I am 49 now. Welcome!
