Hey y'all I'm David

I was diagnosed this May at 25 years old.

I’ve been following Parkinson’s research for about 5 years since I received genetic testing that showed a positive LRRK2 variant. 23andMe recruited me for some studies, which was always a fun way to learn more about Parkinson’s. Unfortunately, as I struggled with more and more health and psychological issues, it quickly became apparent that Parkinson’s was the culprit.

Half-a-dozen neurologists later, I’m officially (?) a Parky? Yay…

Anyway, love sharing medication notes, trying new things, frequent traveler, and student living in NYC (Bronx). Hey everyone!

Hi David, welcome to the forum! Sorry you have to deal with this, you’re so young! What kind of symptoms are you experiencing? What are you going to school for?

For the past 5 years I’ve been dealing with GI issues (thought to be gastroparesis), balance issues, and bipolar disorder. After having a schizoaffective episode, my psychiatrist and I decided I should see a neurologist. It wasn’t until after I tried levodopa that I realized how much rigidity I had in my right side. I have a slight resting tremor as well, which I have no idea how long ago it started. I’ve been shaky for as long as I can remember haha

I’m finishing my undergrad degree in Chemistry, took some time off due to health issues
