Jen, 51yo, from North Texas. Initially diagnosed with Essential Tremor back in March but changed neurologists and got a Parkinson’s diagnosis on 8-3-23. I’m appreciative of the support because I’ve told nobody yet.

Welcome. I was 52 when the final decision came in. Wishing you the best in your journey. I’m five years in keeping as positive as I possibly can is the best medicine I have found.

It’s great to have you here Jen, welcome! So when you say you got a new diagnosis, was that Parkinson’s?
Yes. Sorry! I kind of had a hunch it was going that way. Bradykinesia and rigidity along with tremors.

Hi JenB, I was diagnosed in March 2023. I’m 59, and always worked and been active. It’s been a big change for me! Trying to work through it!

Hey Jen. Welcome to the app. First, I want to encourage you to do what you need when you need it. You know your family better than we do, so you tell who you want when you want. It’s only been a few weeks! I’ve seen people wait YEARS to tell people. You will still have a good life. It’ll have some really hard days, but also really great ones, too. It’s a shock. We’ll be here for whatever you need.
