I met two amazing middle schoolers at last weekend. They had a booth at The Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies Annual Conference. They both have grandparents with PD. As children, they found it hard to connect to their loved ones because of their disease. As part of a Girl Scout project, they have developed a website. The website is geared towards families and children with loved ones who have Parkinson’s. They not only designed the The website, which is extremely impressive; they did the research and developed the content. The content includes fun activities with adaptive devices, exercises, basic education. I’ll elaborate on the education for just a moment. They learned about Parkinson’s and develop the website with a water down version explaining at a basic level that kids can understand all about Parkinson’s. I could go on and on, but I encourage you to visit their website. Better yet don’t just visit their website post their website on all of your social media. And be sure to share it with your friends and family, share it at your support groups. Let’s help these young ladies the successful as they help us navigate disease.
